What is speech therapy?

Speech therapy is the assessment and treatment of speech disorders and communication delays. It is used to improve communication through articulation therapy, language intervention, and more depending on the language disorder. Speech therapy may be required for speech disorders in childhood or impairments in adults.

What Can i expect?

Speech and Language Pathologists determine  what kind of language delay is present, what’s causing it and decide on the best treatment.

  • Articulation problems
  • Fluency problems
  • Resonance or voice problems
  • Receptive language problems
  • Expressive language problems
  • Pragmatic language problems

why speech therapy?

Speech and Language pathologists will work with children to feel more confident and less frustrated about speaking to others. Kids who have language issues can benefit socially, emotionally and academically from speech therapy.  It helps people understand language and express themselves.

Why Early Intervention?

Treating delays early on can prevent potential problems with behavior, learning, and social interaction. By age 3,  it becomes more difficult to make changes in a child’s growth and development.  Through early intervention, children learn how to use language and express feelings and to interact with others.
